that's the idea.

Girl, interrupted

-Did they find Lisa?

No.

-I couIdn't stand up to her.
A decent person wouId
have done something.
Shut her up.
Gone upstairs.
TaIked to Daisy.

MeIvin said you went upstairs.

-Too Iate.

What wouId you have said to her?

-I don't know.
That I was sorry.
That I'II never know what
it was Iike to be her.
But I know what it's Iike
to wanna die.
How it hurts to smiIe.
How you try to fit in,
but you can't.
How you hurt yourseIf
on the outside...
...to try to kiII the thing
on the inside.

Have you ever confused
a dream with life?
Or stolen something
when you have the cash?
Have you ever been blue?
Or thought your train moving
while sitting still?
Maybe l was just crazy.
Maybe it was the ’70 s.
Or maybe l was just a girl...
... interrupted.

A Beautiful Mind

-He 's lost his ability to tell the difference between what is real and what is imagined.
-The men? The ones he thinks are following him?
-Schizophrenics are often paranoid. They see conspiracies everywhere.

                                                      .......................

This, right now, is the final nightmare of schizophrenia. The horror of not knowing what is true, what is real and what isn't.

Imagine if you suddenly learned that the people, the places, the moments most important to you were not gone, not dead, no, worse, had never deen.. What kind of hell would that be?

"I have always believed in numbers. In the equations and logics that leads to reason. I was wrong. It is only in the mysterious equations of love that any logic or reason can be found. Perhaps it is good to have a beautiful mind.. But a better gift is to discover a beautiful heart.."

Mary & Max

Requiem For A Dream

-Hey Ma..You're on diet pills, ain't you?
-I told you.I'm going to a specialist.
-That's what I thought!You're on speed, ain't ya?
-Harry, I'm goin' to a doctor.
-Does he give you pills?
-Of course. He's a doctor..
-What kind of pills?
-A purple, a blue, an orange...
-I mean, like what's in 'em?
-Oh, Harry, I'm Sara Goldfarb, not Albert Einstein. How should I know?
-Does it make you feel good and give you pep?
-Well... yeah, a little...
-Ma, I can hear ya grinding your teeth.
-That goes away at night.
-At night?
-Yeah, when I take the green one.In some minutes I'm asleep. Poof.
-Ma, Ma, ya gotta cut that stuff loose. I'm tellin' ya, it's no good.
-What do you mean it's no good? lbs I've lost.

-So what? You wanna be a dope fiend?
-Dope fiend? Am I foaming at the mouth? He's a nice doctor.
-I am telling you, he's no good.
-How come you know so much? How come you know more than a doctor?
-Believe me, Ma, I know. All right? You'll get strung out.
-Ah, come on!I almost fit in my red dress. The one I wore to your high school graduation.
The one your father liked so much. oh, I remember how he looked at me in that red dress.
-Ma, what's the big deal about the red dress?
-I'm going to wear it at.. You don't know!I'm gonna be on television.I got a call and an application...
-Come on, Ma, who's pulling your leg?
-No, no, no. I'm tellin' ya. I'm gonna be a contestant on television. They haven't told me when yet,
but you'll be proud when you see your mother in her red dress on TV.
-What is the big deal?. Those pills will kill you before you get on.
-"Big deal?. " I'm somebody now, Harry. Everybody likes me.Soon...millions of people will see me
and they'll all like me.I'll tell them about you...and your father. How good he was to us.
Remember? It's a reason to get up in the morning. It's a reason to lose weight, to fit in the red dress.
It's a reason to smile. It makes tomorrow all right..
What have I got, Harry?
-Hmm?
-Why should I even make the bed or wash the dishes? I do them, but why should I? I'm alone.
Your father's gone, you're gone. I got no one to...care for. What have I got, Harry?
I 'm lonely. I'm old.
-You got friends, Ma.
-It's not the same. They don't need me.I like the way I feel..I like thinking about the red dress...
and the television and you and your father.
Now when I get the sun, I smile.

persepolis

I didn't fit in with most kids at schools.
They thought I was strange, so they made me feel like a stranger.

Hemingway has his classic moment in "The Sun Also Rises"
when someone asks Mike Campbell how he went bankrupt. All he can
say is, "Gradually, then suddenly." Thats how depression hits. You
wake up one morning, afraid that youre gonna live.
